Job Description

KNX Pre-Sales Engineer

The Junior KNX Pre-Sales Engineer will support the sales and technical teams in preparing technical proposals, system designs, and BOQs for KNX-based smart building automation solutions. This entry-level role provides an opportunity to develop technical and commercial knowledge of KNX systems and Schneider Electric products under the guidance of senior pre-sales engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Study: Review project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to understand client requirements and identify suitable KNX solutions.

KNX Solution Design: Assist in designing KNX solutions for lighting control, HVAC, shading, sensors, actuators, and other smart building applications.

Proposal Preparation: Prepare technical proposals, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), compliance sheets, and other tender documents under the supervision of senior engineers.

Product Selection: Assist in selecting suitable KNX devices and Schneider Electric products based on project requirements.

Cost Estimation: Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to collect pricing and support project cost estimation.

Technical Coordination: Work closely with senior pre-sales engineers and the sales team to ensure technical alignment on bids.

Software & Tools: Use relevant software and tools for KNX system design and technical proposal preparation.

Client Support: Assist in responding to technical inquiries and preparing clarifications for clients and consultants.

Continuous Learning: Participate in technical training to develop knowledge of KNX, Schneider Electric products, smart building automation, and pre-sales processes.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 0–1 year of experience in Pre-Sales, Tendering, or Building Automation.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant internships or projects are welcome.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Basic knowledge of electrical and control systems.
  • Basic knowledge of KNX and building automation.
  • Knowledge of ETS/ETS6 is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of lighting, HVAC, sensors, and actuators.
  • Knowledge of Schneider Electric products is a plus.

Tools:

  • Basic knowledge of ETS/ETS6 and AutoCAD.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.

Soft Skills:

  • Willingness to learn.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand technical requirements and support in preparing suitable solutions.
