Job Description

Key Responsibilities

- KYC & Customer Due Diligence (CDD):

  • Perform end-to-end onboarding and periodic CDD reviews for corporate clients, financial institutions, and correspondent banking accounts in accordance with MAS Notice 626 and internal policies.
  • Verify ownership structures, ultimate beneficial ownership (UBO), source of wealth/funds, and ensure all customer documentation complies with local regulatory requirements.

- Payment & Sanctions Screening:

  • Review and clear real-time remittance, trade finance, and name screening alerts(Sanctions, PEP, Adverse Media) in the system.
  • Investigate true matches, request supporting documentation from business units or correspondent banks, and escalate potential risk hits appropriately.

- Transaction Monitoring & STR Handling:

  • Perform post-transaction monitoring and pattern analysis system to detect unusual or suspicious transaction behavior.
  • Conduct detailed investigations into flagged alerts and assist in drafting Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) for review.

- Regulatory Inquiries & Reporting:

  • Assist in compiling data and preparing investigation reports for regulatory authorities (e.g., MAS, CAD, CPIB etc).
  • Prepare monthly consolidated compliance management reports as required by the bank and Head Office.

- Compliance Advisory & Training:

  • Provide day-to-day guidance to front-office and operational business units on KYC and local regulatory queries.
  • Assist in developing and updating internal compliance training materials, SOPs, and semi-annual AML/CFT staff quizzes.
  • Handle ad-hoc compliance tasks and project assignments as directed by the Compliance Manager.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

. Experience: More than 2 years of relevant experience in AML/CFT, Corporate KYC/CDD, and Transaction Monitoring within a bank preferred.

. Regulatory Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of MAS Notice 626, the Corruption, Drug Trafficking and Other Serious Crimes Act (CDSA), and local regulatory frameworks.

. Technical Skills: Hands-on familiarity with reviewing complex structures, AML Transaction Monitoring systems and sanctions screening tools.

. Soft Skills: Strong analytical ability, high attention to detail, excellent written communication, and sound risk judgment. Ability to manage investigative queries independently.
