Job Role:- L1 Network Engineer/System Engineer

Job Location:- Abu Dhabi, UAE

Experience:- 4+ Years

Job Summary

Responsible for providing on-site first-line network support, smart-hands assistance, and physical maintenance of LAN/WLAN infrastructure. Ensures continuous network availability for critical business and operational environments through rapid incident response and structured cabling support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide L1 on-site network support for incidents and service requests
  • Perform daily checks of network rooms (MDF/IDF), cabling, and device health
  • Handle smart-hands tasks (cable replacement, port swaps, device reseating)
  • Troubleshoot basic network issues (link down, Wi-Fi issues, IP phone faults)
  • Support switch, AP, and endpoint replacement under L2/L3 guidance
  • Assist in structured cabling, patching, labeling, and network MAC activities
  • Support NAC operations (endpoint access, basic authentication troubleshooting)
  • Maintain accurate port maps, inventory, and CMDB updates
  • Support change windows, deployments, and site expansions
  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware/ISP issues
  • Maintain spares inventory and report shortages
  • Ensure compliance with network standards and documentation
Skills Required
  • Basic networking (TCP/IP, LAN/WLAN fundamentals)
  • Cisco / Aruba switching & wireless (L1 support level)
  • Structured cabling (copper & fiber basics)
  • NAC basics (Cisco ISE / Aruba ClearPass)
  • IP telephony troubleshooting (basic level)
  • Cable testing and fiber inspection tools
  • ITSM tools (ServiceNow / Remedy)
  • Basic firewall awareness
  • Documentation and inventory management
Requirements
  • 4+ years of hands-on network support experience
  • Experience in enterprise or multi-site environments preferred
  • CCNA or Aruba certification preferred
  • Diploma or Bachelors degree in IT / Networking or related field
  • Willingness to work on-site, shifts, weekends, and on-call
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments (cabling, IDF/MDF rooms)
