About the role

At Orange Cyberdefense Egypt, we are expanding our dedicated team for one of our major worldwide tobacco customers.

We're looking for an Intermediate L2 Network Security Engineer who combines solid technical expertise with the ability to support technical implementations for medium-to-large projects under guidance from senior engineers and project leads.

Responsibilities

Technical Operations

Monitor, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise network and security infrastructure, including:

Firewalls: FortiGate

Load Balancers: F5

Secure Access: Ivanti

Networking Devices: Cisco Core and Access Switches, Routers, Wireless Controllers, Cisco Meraki, Fortigate SD-WAN

Act as an escalation point for L1 engineers and resolve moderately complex technical issues.

Perform root cause analysis for incidents and assist in implementing preventive measures.

Execute configuration changes, patches, and upgrades following approved plans.

Project Support

Assist In Technical Implementation For Projects Such As

Hardware migrations

New site deployments

Network and security infrastructure upgrades

Work closely with senior engineers and project managers to prepare implementation plans and documentation.

Ensure compliance with change management processes and risk mitigation strategies.

Customer Interaction

Participate in technical discussions with customer stakeholders under supervision.

Provide status updates on assigned tasks and escalate risks or issues promptly.

Team Collaboration

Support senior engineers and technical owners in project delivery.

Contribute to documentation of SOPs and operational guidelines.

Education

About you

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience

Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in network and security engineering.

Exposure to technical implementation projects (medium complexity).

Skills

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to execute configuration changes and follow implementation plans.

Good communication and documentation skills.

Fluent in English (writing and speaking).

Ownership and accountability for assigned tasks.

Certifications (Preferred)

CCNA or CCNP

Fortinet NSE 4 or higher

F5 LTM (basic level)

ITIL Foundation (optional but desirable)
