About The Role

L3 Network Security Engineer

Overview

At Orange Cyberdefense Egypt, we are strengthening our dedicated team for one of our major worldwide tobacco customers.

We're looking for L3 Network Security Engineers with deep technical expertise, advanced troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead complex projects and mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

Advanced Technical Leadership

Serve as the highest escalation point for critical incidents and complex technical issues.

Perform in-depth root cause analysis and develop long-term solutions for recurring problems.

Lead design and architecture discussions for network and security infrastructure improvements.

Infrastructure Management

Monitor, configure, and optimize enterprise network and security infrastructure, including:

Firewalls: FortiGate

Load Balancers: F5

Secure Access: Ivanti

Networking Devices Knowledge is a plus: Cisco Core and Access Switches, Routers, Wireless Controllers, Cisco Meraki, Fortigate SD-WAN

Validate and implement major changes, upgrades, migrations, and patches with minimal disruption.

Project & Change Management

Drive complex change management processes and ensure compliance with governance standards.

Participate in infrastructure upgrade projects and security enhancement initiatives.

Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

Act as the primary liaison with vendors for advanced troubleshooting, hardware replacements, and software updates.

Collaborate with customer stakeholders on strategic initiatives and provide technical recommendations.

Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing

Mentor L1 and L2 engineers, providing guidance on best practices and advanced troubleshooting techniques.

Conduct technical workshops and contribute to documentation of SOPs and network diagrams.

Compliance & Security

Ensure adherence to security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

Participate in audits and vulnerability assessments, addressing findings promptly.

Education

About you

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience

Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience in network and security engineering.

Proven Expertise In

FortiGate Firewalls

F5 Load Balancers

Ivanti Secure Access

Cisco Networking (Switches, Routers, Wireless Controllers, Meraki) and Fortigate SD-WAN are a plus

Fortigate SD-WAN

Skills

Expert-level troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for complex network and security issues.

Strong proficiency in network architecture design and implementation.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Ability to manage critical incidents under pressure and make strategic decisions.

Fluent in English (writing and speaking).

Certifications (Highly Desirable)

CCNP or CCIE

F5 Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)

Fortinet NSE 7 or higher

Additional certifications such as PCNSE or equivalent are a strong plus.
