Laboratory Assistant

Lab Assistant performs a variety of tasks related to the support in laboratory sessions and classes. As a member of the education team, the Lab Assistant helps in providing quality hand-on education under the instruction of the respective teacher while being vigilant in monitoring student safety and be prepared to address safety issues.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in science or equivalent.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Meticulous attention to detail

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills

• Excellent Time management skills

• Knowledge of lab environment and relevant safety measures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sets up equipment, chemicals and supplies for chemistry, physics and biology labs under the teacher's guidance

• Assists subject teachers in the delivery of practical lessons.

• Prepares materials essential for effective and safe lessons in the laboratory.

• Oversees the lab during lab classes and ensures safety measures and policies are in place.

• Maintains inventory of all lab items and materials and reports any required supplies.

• Educates the students on the safe and correct manner to utilize the lab equipment and materials.

• Contributes positively to the life of the school and its community.

• Maintains effective work relationships with colleagues

• Participates in all school plans, programs, and task force

• Participates in professional development programs.

• Participates in school self-evaluation and in developing the school improvement plan.

• Ensures the safe custody and optimum use of the lab equipment and sees to its regular servicing and maintenance.

• Respects and adheres to all the policies, regulations enforced by the Saudi government and its agencies

• Respects and preserves the values and traditions of the country and the local community.
