Duties And Responsibilities
Responsible for performing and observing lab tests under supervision of specialist or supervisor. Records the results accurately. Uses and maintains all laboratory equipment correctly. Apply rules of quality management, infection control and safety for laboratory.
- Follows standard precautions at all times.
- Withdraws, receives and logs patient specimens.
- Responsible for centrifuging specimens to separate cells from sediment, serum or supernatant fluids.
- Prepare solutions, reagents and follow standard laboratory formulas and procedures.
- Perform laboratory tests procedures according to manufactures instructions either manually or automated.
- Calculates results and documents observations.
- Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
Skills:
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer knowledge required.
- Attends annual review and department in-services, as scheduled.
Education and Experience:
A minimum of:
- Bachelor in faculty of Science (Biochemistry Microbiology) or diploma in Medical Technology.
- Registration Certificate by the Saudi Council for Medical Specialties.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate.
- (2 years) experience is preferable.
