Job Summary

The Laboratory Technician is responsible for supporting laboratory operations by performing routine tests, maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing samples, and ensuring accurate documentation of results. The role ensures compliance with safety standards, quality procedures, and laboratory protocols while assisting scientists, engineers, or quality teams in conducting experiments and analyses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process samples, reagents, and laboratory materials for testing and analysis.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and experiments according to established procedures and standards.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Record, analyze, and report test results accurately in laboratory systems and documentation.
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures, health regulations, and quality control standards.
  • Monitor inventory of laboratory supplies and coordinate with procurement when replenishment is required.
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues and report any abnormalities in test results.
  • Support laboratory audits, inspections, and documentation requirements.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff, quality teams, and management to improve laboratory processes.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a laboratory environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of laboratory testing procedures, equipment, and safety standards.
