Job Title: Land Surveyor

Reports To: Senior Civil Engineer / Project Manager

Employment Type: Full-Time / Residential

Please note that this is an international assignment based entirely on-site in Zambia. While we are welcoming applications from professionals globally, full residential relocation to Zambia is a mandatory condition of employment.

Position Overview

The Land Surveyor provides accurate topographic, boundary, and construction survey services to support site preparation, verify PV array layout, align infrastructure, and confirm as-built conditions across solar PV project sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct topographic and boundary surveys of all project land parcels.
  • Verify EPC contractor layout of PV module rows, mounting structures, access roads, and substation areas.
  • Monitor and verify earthworks volumes, site grading elevations, and slope gradients against design requirements.
  • Perform regular survey checks during construction to verify compliance with approved site layout drawings.
  • Prepare and maintain survey records, field books, and digital survey datasets.
  • Produce and submit as-built survey drawings upon completion of all construction activities.
  • Operate and maintain survey equipment, including total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and levelling instruments.
  • Coordinate with civil engineers and construction teams to resolve survey-related queries.
  • Support the QA/QC Civil Inspector in verifying foundation setting-out tolerances.
  • Prepare volume computations and settlement monitoring reports as required.
  • Establish and maintain survey benchmarks and control points throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years of professional survey experience on large-scale civil or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency with total station, GNSS/GPS equipment, and survey data processing software.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or Civil 3D for drawing production is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of local geodetic systems and Zambian land survey regulations is a plus.
