Job Description
WSP is seeking an experienced
Landscape Architect to support the delivery of major transportation, road infrastructure, and utility projects in the UAE. The role will be based on-site and will be responsible for supervising landscape construction works, ensuring compliance with design intent, project specifications, quality standards, and client requirements.
The Landscape Architect will work as part of the supervision consultant team and oversee landscape implementation activities on large-scale infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in site supervision, landscape construction, and coordination within transport, roads, and utilities projects across the UAE. Experience with engineering consultants is essential.
Responsibilities
- Supervise landscape construction works on-site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project standards.
- Monitor contractor performance and workmanship related to landscape installations.
- Review and verify materials, planting specifications, irrigation systems, hardscape elements, and associated landscape works.
- Conduct site inspections and prepare inspection reports, snagging lists, and progress assessments.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary supervision teams including roads, utilities, civil, and infrastructure engineers.
- Ensure landscape works are executed in accordance with project schedules, quality requirements, and health and safety standards.
- Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, method statements, and material approvals related to landscape works.
- Assist in resolving technical issues and provide recommendations to maintain project progress.
- Attend site meetings and liaise with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Support project closeout activities, testing, commissioning, and handover processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in landscape architecture and site supervision.
- Mandatory UAE experience on transportation, roads, highways, infrastructure, and utility projects.
- Strong consultancy-side construction supervision experience is essential.
- Proven experience supervising landscape and irrigation works on infrastructure projects.
- Good understanding of UAE authority requirements and construction standards.
- Strong communication, coordination, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in reviewing technical drawings and construction documentation.
- Experience with engineering consultants on major road, transport, utility, and infrastructure projects in the UAE.
- Extensive site-based supervision experience.
- Candidates with building project backgrounds or contractor-only experience will not be considered.
