Job Description

Purpose of the Role

As the Laundry Application Expert, you will provide technical expertise and hands-on application support across commercial and industrial laundry operations to ensure effective washing performance, chemical efficiency, equipment performance, and consistent quality standards.

The role is responsible for programming and optimising tunnel washer and washer extractor processes, conducting titration and water analysis, applying laundry chemicals, developing wash programmes, monitoring process KPIs, conducting quality checks, and providing technical recommendations to improve laundry performance.

Working closely with Laundry Operations, Engineering, Sales, and customers, you will provide on-site technical support, train laundry teams, resolve application-related issues, and support tailored laundry solutions that improve wash quality, garment care, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Laundry Application Management

Programme, monitor, and optimise tunnel washers and washer extractors to improve washing efficiency, productivity, quality, and overall operational performance.

Wash Programme Development

Develop and adjust wash programmes according to laundry classification, fabric type, customer requirements, and applicable operational requirements.

Laundry Chemistry & Chemical Application

Select, dose, and apply appropriate laundry chemicals according to different laundry requirements while ensuring effective cleaning performance and fabric care.

Titration & Application Control

Perform application titration within wash cycles to verify chemical concentrations, dosing performance, and compliance with required application standards.

Water Analysis

Conduct water analysis required for laundry operations and support adjustments to wash programmes and chemical applications based on water conditions.

Process Optimisation

Monitor and analyse wash cycles and recommend adjustments to improve productivity, wash quality, water consumption, energy utilisation, chemical consumption, and overall process efficiency.

Quality Assurance

Conduct periodic quality checks covering wash quality, cleanliness, stain removal, garment care, and rewash performance. Identify performance gaps and recommend corrective improvements.

KPI Monitoring & Reporting

Monitor laundry process KPIs including productivity, turnaround time, rewash rates, water consumption, energy consumption, quality performance, and operational efficiency. Prepare related performance reports.

Equipment & Engineering Coordination

Apply working knowledge of laundry equipment and coordinate with Engineering teams to address equipment malfunctions or technical conditions affecting wash processes and quality.

Training & Capability Support

Train laundry staff on wash programmes, chemical handling, SOPs, chemical applications, equipment operation, and required quality standards.

Customer Technical Support

Understand customer laundry requirements, provide technical recommendations, respond to application-related requirements, and support solutions aligned with customer operational needs.

Customer Site Assessments

Conduct customer site visits to assess laundry processes, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend improvements to wash quality, productivity, water consumption, and energy utilisation.

Technical Reporting

Prepare technical and KPI reports covering process performance, quality results, identified issues, and recommended improvements.

Customer Relationship Support

Support customer relationships by providing professional on-site technical service and tailored solutions that improve laundry processes and overall operational performance.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Applied Chemistry, Textile Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Relevant certifications in industrial laundry, chemical applications, textile care, water treatment, or laundry technology are advantageous.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in industrial/commercial laundry operations, laundry applications, chemical applications, process optimisation, or technical customer support.
  • Hands-on experience with tunnel washers and washer extractors.
  • Practical knowledge of laundry chemicals, chemical dosing, titration, water analysis, and wash programme development.
  • Experience monitoring and improving laundry productivity, wash quality, water consumption, and energy utilisation.
  • Understanding of textile and garment care, stain removal, rewash reduction, and laundry quality requirements.
  • Experience providing customer-facing technical support and conducting on-site laundry assessments.
  • Ability to train operational employees on laundry processes, chemical handling, SOPs, and equipment operation.
