Laundry Attendant

Role Overview

Join our hospitality team as a Laundry Attendant, where you'll contribute to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hygiene at The Chedi Al Bait, Sharjah. In this ONSITE role, you will be responsible for the efficient handling, cleaning, pressing, folding, and distribution of hotel linens, uniforms, and guest laundry, ensuring everything is maintained to luxury hotel standards.

Responsibilities

• Sort, collect, wash, dry, press, fold, and distribute hotel linens, towels, uniforms, and other laundry items according to established procedures.
• Handle guest laundry and dry-cleaning items carefully, ensuring proper identification, processing, and timely delivery.
• Inspect laundry items for stains, damage, missing buttons, tears, or other defects and report issues to the supervisor.
• Operate washing machines, dryers, steam irons, pressing machines, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow the correct washing and drying procedures for different types of fabrics and materials.
• Measure and use laundry chemicals, detergents, and cleaning products correctly and safely.
• Ensure clean linen, uniforms, and other items are properly folded, organized, stored, and distributed to the relevant departments.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, equipment, storage areas, and workstations.
• Assist with maintaining adequate par stock levels of linens, towels, uniforms, and other laundry supplies.
• Handle soiled and clean laundry separately in accordance with hygiene and sanitation standards.
• Keep accurate records of laundry received, processed, damaged, or returned when required.
• Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance issues, damaged items, or shortages promptly to the supervisor.
• Follow all hotel policies relating to hygiene, safety, chemical handling, and infection prevention.
• Support housekeeping and other departments with laundry-related requests to ensure smooth hotel operations.
• Perform side duties and any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor or manager.
  
  

Must Have Requirements

• Prior experience as a Laundry Attendant, Laundry Assistant, or similar role in a luxury hotel, five-star property, or high-end hospitality environment.
• Basic knowledge of laundry operations, washing procedures, fabric care, and stain removal.
• Ability to operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
• Experience with guest laundry and dry-cleaning procedures.
• Good understanding of hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods, lift laundry loads, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Professional, presentable, and well-groomed appearance aligned with hotel standards.
