Laundry Specialist

Purpose of the Role

As the Laundry Specialist, you will provide hands-on technical support for commercial and industrial laundry operations, ensuring laundry equipment, chemical dosing systems, wash programmes, and application processes operate effectively and consistently.

The role focuses on the technical execution and troubleshooting side of laundry operations, supporting equipment performance, dosing systems, wash-cycle settings, chemical applications, preventive checks, installations, and technical issue resolution.

Working closely with the Laundry Application Expert, Engineering / Technical Services, Laundry Operations, Sales, and customer teams, you will apply established technical procedures to resolve operational issues, support equipment and dosing system performance, and maintain reliable laundry operations and customer service.

Laundry Technical Support

Provide hands-on technical support for industrial laundry equipment, dosing systems, and related technical applications to maintain reliable and effective laundry operations.

Equipment Troubleshooting

Inspect and troubleshoot technical issues affecting tunnel washers, washer extractors, dosing equipment, pumps, controllers, and associated laundry systems, resolving issues within the defined technical scope and escalating complex cases when required.

Chemical Dosing Systems

Check chemical dosing systems, pumps, tubes, calibration, settings, and chemical delivery to ensure correct and consistent chemical application during wash cycles.

Wash Programme Technical Support

Support the implementation and adjustment of approved wash programmes and machine settings according to defined laundry application requirements.

Equipment Installation & Commissioning Support

Support the installation, setup, testing, and commissioning of laundry dosing equipment and related technical systems at customer sites.

Preventive Technical Checks

Conduct scheduled technical inspections and preventive checks on laundry application equipment and dosing systems to identify potential failures and minimise operational downtime.

Technical Maintenance Coordination

Carry out defined minor technical interventions and coordinate with Engineering / Technical Services for equipment repairs or complex maintenance requirements outside the role's technical authority.

Laundry Application Support

Support the Laundry Application Expert in conducting titration, water checks, chemical application verification, wash-cycle testing, and implementation of approved process improvements.

Technical Quality Checks

Monitor equipment and dosing performance that may affect wash quality, chemical consumption, rewash levels, or operational efficiency and take corrective action within established procedures.

Customer Site Support

Visit customer laundry facilities to inspect equipment, investigate technical complaints, troubleshoot operational problems, and restore normal system performance.

Technical Issue Resolution

Respond to customer technical service requests, identify root causes within the assigned technical scope, implement corrective actions, test results, and confirm that equipment or application systems are operating correctly.

Spare Parts & Technical Materials

Identify required spare parts and technical materials for laundry systems and coordinate availability and replacement with the relevant internal teams.

Technical Training Support

Provide practical guidance to customer operators on correct equipment operation, dosing system use, routine checks, chemical handling, and basic troubleshooting procedures.

Technical Documentation

Maintain service records, inspection checklists, technical reports, equipment information, and records of completed corrective actions and site visits.

Health & Safety Compliance

Follow all required health, safety, chemical handling, PPE, equipment isolation, and customer-site procedures during technical activities.

Education & Experience

• Diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Electromechanical, Industrial Maintenance, or another relevant technical discipline.
• Relevant technical training in commercial/industrial laundry equipment, chemical dosing systems, pumps, or related systems is advantageous.
• Minimum 2–4 years of relevant technical experience in commercial/industrial laundry, equipment maintenance, chemical dosing systems, technical field service, or a related environment.
• Practical experience in troubleshooting technical equipment and dosing systems.
• Basic working knowledge of tunnel washers, washer extractors, pumps, controllers, and laundry dosing equipment.
• Understanding of laundry chemicals and safe chemical handling practices.
• Ability to read equipment instructions, technical documentation, and basic technical diagrams.
• Ability to perform practical technical work at customer sites.
• Basic computer and reporting skills.
• Valid driving licence and ability to travel to customer sites where required.

Working Environment

• Location: Primarily field-based, with regular technical visits to customer laundry facilities.
• Schedule: Full-time with flexibility to respond to customer technical requirements, equipment issues, installations, and planned technical inspections.
• Working Conditions: A hands-on technical specialist role involving regular work around industrial laundry equipment, chemical dosing systems, pumps, controllers, water systems, and active laundry production environments. The role may require standing for extended periods, accessing equipment areas, handling technical tools, and working around chemicals in accordance with approved PPE and safety procedures.
