Lead Centralized Control Engineer (SCADA)

The Candidate will supervise contractor planning, implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and field optimization of SCADA systems across station and depot sites. The role requires solid systems expertise, practical troubleshooting skills, and clear communication to ensure high system availability and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• SCADA System Implementation: Oversee contractor installation, deployment, and configuration of SCADA hardware, Remote Terminal Units (RTUs/PLCs), and software modules in compliance with project specifications.
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigate, diagnose, and resolve field technical issues regarding telemetry links, data integrity, hardware communication failures, and software parameter setup.
• System Performance Monitoring: Track system performance metrics, analyze data logs, and implement proactive technical measures to enhance overall system responsiveness and stability.
• Documentation and Reports: Maintain thorough records of as-built configurations, firmware versions, design changes, and site updates while preparing routine progress and maintenance reports.
• Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with systems integrators, MEP teams, IT personnel, and client representatives to ensure smooth integration of SCADA with wider operational technologies (BMS/TCMS).
• Regulatory Compliance: Verify that all SCADA installations comply with industry cybersecurity guidelines, safety mandates, and contractual performance specs.
• Continuous Improvement: Keep abreast of modern trends, automation technologies, and operational best practices to recommend continuous site process improvements.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation, or a related field.
• Proven track record implementing and commissioning SCADA platforms in rail, industrial, or critical infrastructure environments.
• Solid knowledge of SCADA software architectures, protocols, and communication standards (e.g., OPC, DNP3, Modbus, IEC 60870-5-104).
• Familiarity with programming/scripting concepts (e.g., C/C++, Java, Python, or PLC Ladder Logic).
• Practical understanding of industrial network topologies, VPNs, firewalls, and cybersecurity guidelines (e.g., NERC-CIP, IEC 62443).
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills for clear cross-discipline coordination.
• Self-starter with high autonomy and strict focus on project timelines.
