Lead Data Engineering / Platform Ops

Job Purpose:

We are looking for a Lead Data Engineering / Platform Ops professional to own and operate RAKBANK's enterprise data platform.

You will lead the engineering of scalable data pipelines and ensure the platform delivers reliable, secure, and high-performance data to power analytics, AI, and regulatory reporting across the bank.

What You'll Do

- Design and operate batch & real-time data pipelines (ADF, Kafka/CDC)

- Build and manage the Databricks lakehouse platform (bronze → gold layers)

- Own DataOps practices including CI/CD, monitoring, and incident management

- Implement data governance (Unity Catalog) — security, lineage, access controls

- Develop dbt transformation models aligned to business data needs

- Manage real-time streaming (Kafka / Confluent) for operational use cases

- Drive platform reliability, SLAs, and performance optimization

- Own data platform cost optimization (FinOps)

- Collaborate with AI & analytics teams to enable advanced data products

- Lead and mentor a high-performing data engineering team

What We're Looking For

- 10+ years in Data Engineering with leadership experience

- Strong hands-on expertise in Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Kafka/Confluent, dbt

- Experience working in banking or regulated environments preferred

- Strong understanding of data platform governance, security, and cloud cost optimization
