Lead Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer

We are looking for an experienced E&I Lead to supervise and coordinate electrical and instrumentation construction, installation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities at Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have strong site experience in large-scale EPC, power, water, desalination, petrochemical, and industrial projects, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, QA/QC, and HSE departments. The role requires a technically competent and safety-focused professional who can manage site execution, monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and ensure that all E&I works are completed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable standards, and project schedule.

About the Role

As an E&I Lead, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day electrical and instrumentation construction activities at site. You will lead engineers, supervisors, technicians, electricians, instrument technicians, and subcontractor teams to achieve planned installation, testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning targets.

The successful candidate should have proven experience in:

• Electrical equipment installation
• Power, control, and signal cable installation
• Cable tray and conduit installation
• Cable laying, glanding, termination, and testing
• Grounding and lightning protection systems
• Instrumentation installation and termination
• DCS and control system installation
• Fiber-optic cable installation, splicing, and OTDR testing
• Telecommunications and public address systems
• Heat tracing systems
• Cathodic protection systems
• Client, consultant, subcontractor, and vendor coordination

The candidate should also be capable of maintaining high standards of quality, safety, productivity, documentation, and project control. These requirements reflect the candidate's background in large-scale desalination, power generation, water, waste valorization, petrochemical, and industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all electrical and instrumentation site activities.
• Manage installation of electrical equipment, cable trays, conduits, power/control cables, and grounding systems.
• Supervise cable laying, glanding, termination, testing, and commissioning.
• Coordinate instrumentation, DCS, control panels, junction boxes, fiber-optic, telecom, and public address system installation.
• Supervise heat tracing and cathodic protection works.
• Allocate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment to meet project targets.
• Monitor daily progress, productivity, subcontractor performance, and work-front availability.
• Review drawings, cable schedules, technical submittals, method statements, and inspection documents.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, subcontractors, QA/QC, HSE, and commissioning teams.
• Ensure all work complies with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable standards, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, loop checks, punch-list clearance, pre-commissioning, and handover documentation.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate project records.

What We're Looking For

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation construction, installation, testing, pre-commissioning, or commissioning.
• Strong experience in lead or supervisory roles on large-scale EPC and industrial projects.
• E&I professionals who can independently manage site activities, lead construction teams, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and deliver electrical and instrumentation works safely and on schedule.
