The Lead Electrical & Instrument Engineer will be instrumental in overseeing the engineering aspects of E-houses and Process modules for both offshore and onshore projects. This position demands in- depth technical knowledge, strong leadership, and project management capabilities to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Job Description
- Technical Requirements: Understand specific technical requirements for assigned projects, including E-houses and Process modules. Ensure adherence to Industry Standards, Classification, and Regulatory requirements.
- Engineering Planning: Collaborate with the Project Engineering Manager to develop engineering plans in line with project schedules.
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of engineers, designers, and drafters to ensure timelydelivery of project engineering outputs.
- Resource Planning: Develop and implement engineering resource plans and daily/weekly activity schedules basedon project scope.Monitor and controlengineering resources allocated to the project.
- Technical Review and Queries: Review projectspecifications and raise technical querieswith customers if requirements do not align with contract agreements.
- Change Management: Track and document all changes in project requirements from the contract.
- Specification Compliance: Understand electrical, control, and instrumentation requirements per project specifications and raise RFIs as needed. Prepare electrical and instrumentation design bases according to project specifications and international standards.
- Package Management: Prepare RFQs for main electrical and instrumentation packages required in theproject.
- Technical Decision-Making: Make technical decisions on uncertainissues using best industry practices and international standards.
- Equipment Selection: Ensure proper selection of equipment based on hazardous area classifications.
- Design Expertise: Provide expertise in designing various types of switchgears and their operational requirements.
- Apply international standards (IEC, NEC, NFPA, etc.) in engineering deliverables.
- Class Requirements: Apply class requirements (DNV, ABS, BV, etc.) as per projectneeds.
- Design Calculations: Oversee and verify designcalculations to ensurecompliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Variation Orders: Initiate variation orders for additional scopes incorporated during the engineering phase.
- Meetings and Communication: Attend project progress meetings and effectively convey information to the team.
- Technical Bid Evaluations: Prepare TBEs for sub-vendor technical offers.
- Support Activities: Provide support for bid evaluations, site construction activities, FAT, and SAT.
Job Requirement
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Minimum 15 years of cumulative experience in E&I engineering within the oil and gas sector.
- Excellent leadership skills to manage a team and deliver successful projects.
- Knowledge of oil & gas plants, substations, E-houses, process modules, and FPSO functionality.
- Proficient in E&I-related software such as CAD, ETAP, Navisworks, Smart Instrument, and lighting calculations.
