Lead Electrical Engineer (Traction Power)

The Traction Power Engineer will monitor work carried out across various construction sites to ensure safety and quality standards are upheld and to verify that installations reflect approved shop drawings. The candidate will carry out regular inspections, evaluate work quality, identify defects or snags, and apply a practical approach to resolving site issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out regular inspections of traction power supply equipment delivery and installation activities across TPS/SSS, conductor rails, wayside cabling, and equipment.
• Coordinate all technical aspects with the design team.
• Witness the installation of traction power supply equipment, including 22kV, LV & DC switchgears, AC & DC protection relays, 22kV dry-type transformers, UPS, and battery chargers.
• Witness 22kV, traction, and LV cable installation and testing.
• Monitor the traction power installation process from start to finish.
• Inspect quality of work and ensure all installations and materials comply with approved design plans.
• Submit daily and weekly reports to the Construction Team Leader.
• Identify snags/defects and ensure building, health, and safety regulations are strictly followed.
• Ensure all site works strictly follow approved method statements and that all site documentation is current and approved.
• Monitor installation progress against the project baseline schedule to ensure key milestones are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (Power stream).
• Proven site-supervision experience in traction power, electrical installations, and rail projects.
• Proficiency with drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).

Very good written and verbal communication skills in English.
