Job Summary
The Lead Electrical Engineer is responsible for leading and managing all electrical engineering and design activities related to Oil & Gas projects. The role requires extensive experience in engineering design, fleet studies, design development, site management, and project execution. The incumbent will provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards, project specifications, safety requirements, and client expectations
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electrical engineering design activities for Oil & Gas projects from concept development through detailed engineering and execution.
- Manage the preparation, review, and approval of electrical engineering deliverables, including single-line diagrams, load lists, specifications, calculations, layouts, cable schedules, and equipment datasheets.
- Conduct and oversee electrical system studies, feasibility studies, and engineering evaluations to support operational and project requirements.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities and ensure effective integration with mechanical, instrumentation, civil, and process engineering teams.
- Provide technical guidance, leadership, and mentorship to engineers and designers within the project team.
- Review contractor and vendor submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and industry best practices.
- Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation activities.
- Lead site engineering activities, resolve technical issues, and provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, start-up, and handover phases.
- Ensure adherence to HSE requirements, quality standards, and regulatory compliance throughout project execution.
- Participate in technical reviews, design reviews, HAZOP studies, risk assessments, and project meetings with stakeholders and clients.
- Monitor project progress and provide technical reports, recommendations, and updates to management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognised university.
- Professional Engineering certification or membership in a recognised engineering institution is preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience in electrical engineering design and engineering activities.
- Demonstrated expertise in engineering design, system studies, design development, and related engineering disciplines.
- Proven experience in site management and project management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and successful project delivery.
- Mandatory experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of international standards and codes, including IEC, IEEE, API, NFPA, and other relevant industry regulations.
- Experience working on both brownfield and greenfield Oil & Gas projects is highly desirable.

- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects from concept to commissioning.
- Experience working with EPC contractors and international engineering standards.
