Lead Electrical Maintenance & Operation Engineer

Job Purpose:

To lead, direct, and oversee the maintenance and operations team in managing all on-site electrical systems and equipment. The role ensures uninterrupted power supply, maximizes operational efficiency, minimizes downtime, enforces strict safety and quality standards, and optimizes operational costs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and direct engineers and technical teams; assign daily responsibilities, evaluate performance, and enhance productivity.
• Strategy, design, and execute Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PPM) programs to minimize breakdowns and extend asset lifecycles.
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for complex electrical failures and direct rapid-response troubleshooting to minimize operational downtime.
• Oversee the inspection, testing, and operation of Low/Medium Voltage systems, transformers, generators, Main Distribution Boards (MDBs/SMDBs), and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems.
• Manage contractors and vendors, ensuring deliverable quality aligns with technical specifications, site requirements, and approved codes.
• Review and approve spare part requests, manage critical inventory levels, and prevent delays in maintenance activities.
• Analyze energy consumption data and implement engineering solutions to optimize power usage and reduce operational expenses.
• Oversee the functionality and integration of Low Current systems (CCTV, Fire Alarm, Access Control, Intercom, etc.).
• Enforce occupational health and safety (HSE) standards and ensure compliance with local and international electrical codes.
• Develop emergency recovery plans for continuous power supply and present periodic technical and KPI performance reports to senior management.

Qualifications & Key Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years in electrical operation and maintenance within large facilities or industrial sites, including a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, load calculation, and electrical simulation software.
• Deep understanding of electrical codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, SBC) and Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Strong technical knowledge of LV/MV networks, power distribution, and protection systems.
• Proven leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills under pressure.
• Excellent communication, vendor management, and reporting abilities in English (Arabic is a plus).
