Job Description

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex initiatives to develop infrastructure to provide solutions for business applications
  • Participate in various projects intended to continually improve or upgrade the infrastructure
  • Evaluate internal and external software solutions which could be leveraged to meet target state architecture goals
  • Review and analyze high impact outages to ensure the proper processes and procedures are in place to avoid problems in the future
  • Design, build, deploy and maintain infrastructure solutions through collaborative efforts with the team and third party vendors
  • Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
  • Make decisions in technical designs, implementation plans and identify project risks and resource requirements
  • Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
  • Recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and achieve results
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Interact with customer and vendor

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

Ribbon Expertise

  • Deep hands-on experience with:
    • Ribbon SBC (1K / 2K / 5K / SBC SWe)
    • Ribbon PSX (routing, policy design, call control)
    • Ribbon RAMP (analytics, provisioning, monitoring)
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • SIP signaling, header manipulation, call routing policies
    • Interconnects with service providers and carrier-grade environments
  • Experience in large-scale SBC deployments, migration, and optimization

Automation & Development

  • Advanced experience in:
    • Python scripting for network/voice automation
    • REST API integrations with Ribbon and Cisco platforms
    • Automation tools: Ansible, Terraform (preferred), or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of:
    • CI/CD pipelines (Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.)
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles
  • Proven ability to build:
    • Reusable automation frameworks
    • Self-healing and auto-remediation systems

Voice & Networking Fundamentals

  • Deep expertise in:
    • VoIP protocols: SIP, RTP, SRTP, TLS
    • Call flows, dial plans, codec negotiation
  • Solid networking knowledge:
    • Routing, switching, QoS, firewalls, NAT traversal

Cisco UC

  • Hands-on experience with:
    • CUCM, CUC, CER, Expressway
  • Integration experience with SBC-driven architectures
  • Work Location - Bangalore / Hyderabad

Job Expectations:

  • Design and implement carrier-grade enterprise voice architectures with a primary focus on:
    • Ribbon SBC platforms (SBC 1K / 2K / 5K / SWe)
    • Ribbon PSX (Policy Server) for centralized routing, policy control, and least-cost routing
    • Ribbon RAMP for provisioning, analytics, and lifecycle management
  • Define and implement high-availability, geo-redundant, and scalable SBC architectures
  • Lead SIP trunking, interconnect design, and normalization strategies across multi-vendor environments
  • Perform advanced SIP message manipulation, routing logic design, and interop troubleshooting
  • Drive standardization of Ribbon configurations, dial plans, and routing policies
  • Automation & DevOps for Voice

  • Design and implement end-to-end automation frameworks for voice infrastructure including:
    • Provisioning (users, trunks, dial plans, policies)
    • Configuration management (SBC templates, PSX policies)
    • Software upgrades & patching workflows
    • Backup, restore, and disaster recovery orchestration
  • Develop automation pipelines using Python, REST APIs, NETCONF/RESTCONF, and Ansible
  • Integrate Ribbon platforms with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) models
  • Build self-service automation tools/portals for operational teams and service provisioning
  • Implement event-driven automation for fault detection, remediation, and service restoration
  • Create reusable automation libraries, SDK integrations, and orchestration playbooks
  • Data Center Migration & Transformation

  • Lead voice infrastructure workstreams in data center migration initiatives
  • Plan and execute zero/low-downtime migration strategies for SBCs and voice applications
  • Perform capacity planning, traffic engineering, and failover validation
  • Automate migration and rollback procedures
  • Operations, Monitoring & Optimization

  • Develop proactive monitoring solutions leveraging telemetry, logs, and analytics (including Ribbon RAMP insights)
  • Automate incident detection, correlation, and root cause analysis workflows
  • Optimize voice quality, signaling efficiency, and resource utilization
  • Lead performance tuning for SBCs and signaling infrastructure
  • Establish SLOs/SLAs and implement observability practices
  • Cisco Voice

  • Integrate and support Cisco UC platforms:
    • CUCM, Unity Connection (CUC), CER, Expressway
  • Ensure seamless interoperability between Cisco UC and Ribbon SBC/PSX environments
  • Support hybrid call flows involving on-prem, PSTN, and cloud integrations
  • Collaboration & Governance

  • Work closely with network, security, cloud, and application teams to ensure end-to-end solution alignment
  • Define standards, governance models, and best practices for voice automation and Ribbon deployments
  • Document architectures, automation frameworks, and operational procedures
