Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Downstream Process Engineer with strong expertise in Solomon benchmarking methodologies and performance analysis within refinery environments.

The successful candidate will provide technical leadership in benchmarking studies, performance evaluation, and implementation of improvement initiatives across refining and manufacturing assets. This role plays a key part in identifying performance gaps and driving measurable operational and financial improvements through data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate Solomon benchmarking studies, ensuring data accuracy and relevance across manufacturing facilities.
  • Conduct on-site data collection, validation, and quality assurance during benchmarking exercises.
  • Analyze and interpret benchmarking results to assess competitive positioning and operational performance.
  • Develop detailed reports with actionable insights and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
  • Identify performance gaps and lead the design and execution of improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and implement cost optimization and margin improvement strategies.
  • Collaborate with site teams to define performance targets and track progress using benchmarking metrics.
  • Evaluate the impact of capital projects and operational changes on benchmarking performance metrics.
  • Prepare and deliver regular benchmarking and performance reports to leadership.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in benchmarking methodologies and best practices.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum 15 years of refinery process experience, including at least 7 years specializing in Solomon benchmarking.
  • Proven ability to apply benchmarking methodologies to deliver measurable performance improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of refinery operations and process unit performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and lead technical discussions at senior levels.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis and performance visualization tools related to benchmarking.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and benchmarking methodologies.
