Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Procurement Engineer with over 18 years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector, including strong exposure to EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) projects. The candidate will be responsible for leading procurement activities, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and equipment in compliance with project specifications, budgets, and schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end procurement activities for EPC oil & gas projects.
- Develop procurement strategies and sourcing plans aligned with project requirements.
- Review technical specifications, BOQs, and engineering documents to prepare RFQs.
- Evaluate technical and commercial bids in coordination with engineering and project teams.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, project standards, and client requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance, expediting, and timely delivery of materials.
- Manage vendor pre-qualification and maintain approved vendor lists.
- Coordinate with project management, engineering, QA/QC, and logistics teams.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement value engineering initiatives.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mandatory)
- Strong knowledge of EPC procurement processes in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Expertise in sourcing major equipment, bulk materials, and subcontract packages.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
- Strong understanding of international procurement standards and practices.
- Leadership and team management capabilities.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office tools.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
