Lead Researcher

Al-Ain News is IMI's multilingual digital news platform, delivering around-the-clock coverage of regional and international news. The platform combines breaking news, live updates, analysis, opinion, explainers and video to provide audiences with reliable, accessible journalism.

Available in Arabic, English, Turkish and Persian, Al-Ain News serves audiences across multiple regions through a network of editorial teams and regional bureaux.

Role Summary:

Heads the research desk, directing a team of researchers and taking final editorial responsibility for the accuracy, sourcing and quality of all research output.

Man Duties:

• Lead the research desk
• Assign and oversee daily research activities
• Ensure accuracy, authenticity, language, style and tone
• Manage source accountability
• Sign off on research and documentation

Requirements:

• Excellent Arabic writing and good English
• Strong multimedia and digital writing skills
• Investigative journalism
• Versatile knowledge
• Strong time management and organization
• Ability to identify counter-intuitive angles
• Minimum 3 years leading journalists/researchers in a similar field
• Multimedia, investigative journalism and digital media background preferred
