Role Objective:

The Stores & Inventory Control Lead is responsible for overseeing all storekeeping operations across the company's construction sites and central facilities. This senior role ensures that materials, consumables, tools, and equipment are properly managed, stocked, documented, and utilized to support project execution with maximum efficiency and minimum waste. The position leads the recruitment, evaluation, training, and continuous development of all storekeepers and is accountable for establishing standardized systems, policies, and digital workflows across all Amana operating countries.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Storekeeper Management

  • Oversee, guide, and directly manage all storekeepers across projects and central stores.
  • Lead the recruitment, assessment, and selection of storekeepers to ensure the highest competency levels.
  • Develop and implement structured training programs for new and existing storekeepers covering inventory control, ERP use, safety, and material handling.
  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations and ensure continuous improvement.

2. Inventory & Materials Management

  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure that all materials are properly received, inspected, stored, and issued in alignment with company's standards.
  • Develop policies and procedures and conduct Audits to maintain stock accuracy and ensure all physical stock matches ERP and digital records.
  • Develop and enforce storage policies, material layout plans, and housekeeping standards to enhance accessibility, usage efficiency, and safety.
  • Conduct regular audits to minimize wastage, pilferage, and material expiry.
  • Manage material preservation requirements (cement, chemicals, tools, electrical/MEP material, steel, etc.).
  • Work on continuous improvement of storekeeping policies and guidelines to ensure efficiency improvement, better serving construction sites, reducing wastage and delays.

3. Systems, Technology & Reporting

  • Lead the integration and proper utilization of ERP and digital inventory systems across all stores.
  • Ensure real-time stock visibility for delivery team, plant management, and procurement.
  • Monitor the generation of monthly reports on stock condition, consumption trends, aging materials, and KPIs.
  • Analyze supplier behaviors including quality, delivery performance, after-sales support, and warranty claims to support the Procurement Department's supplier database updates.
  • Implement barcode or RFID systems where feasible and recommend technologies to enhance accuracy and traceability.

4. Procurement Coordination & Inter-Site Material Optimization

  • Establish strong communication channels between storekeepers and the Procurement team.
  • Ensure materials that are unused at one site are properly transferred to other sites rather than being purchased again or scrapped.
  • Optimize inter-site material transfers to reduce costs and ensure efficient utilization of inventory.
  • Develop policies and procedures to provide early warnings on overstocking, shortages, and urgent material needs.

5. Site Operational Support

  • Support project teams in daily materials planning, stock forecasting, and usage optimization.
  • Train site teams on:
  • Equipment management and proper documentation
  • Diesel distribution, monitoring, and reporting
  • Utilities management (water, waste, rubbish removal)
  • Work closely with Plant & Logistics to ensure the availability of operational supplies and reduce downtime.

6. Compliance, Safety & Quality

  • Ensure all stores comply with internal policies, QHSE requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Implement safety and environmental procedures for handling hazardous materials and heavy tools.
  • Develop policies, procedures and conduct audits to ensure accurate documentation of damaged, expired, or noncompliant materials.

7. Mobility & Regional Coordination

  • Travel regularly between UAE, KSA, Qatar, and other operational regions to monitor store operations, meet and develop his team and be close to the delivery team.
  • Provide mentorship and support to site store teams to standardize best practices across all locations.

Educational Qualifications, Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in inventory/stores management within large-scale operations
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.)
  • Proficient in construction, MEP materials, consumables, and equipment handling
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills
  • Ability to lead multicultural teams across multiple regions and willing to travel frequently
