The Work Itself:

• Design Code & Systems: Develop systems that impact 40% of the world's population while influencing Visa's internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.

Essential Functions:

• Product Owner Collaboration: Work directly with product owners to gather and refine requirements across products, integrating existing tools and solutions across the organization.
• Advanced Solutions Design: Develop and design architect solutions that are robust and scalable, considering integrations with other solutions across the technical ecosystem.
• Technical Documentation: Provide domain expertise in technical documentation development and contribute to best practices in documentation.
• Feature Development: Take a key role in the end-to-end development and delivery of new features across products.
• Security: Champion security efforts by collaborating with the security team to implement secure coding techniques.
• Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline testing processes.
• Team Collaboration: Work with product engineering teams during code/design reviews and incident responses across the product development and operations cycles.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance to junior developers and work independently on complex software development issues.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

• 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 7 years with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Team Leadership: Proven experience leading teams delivering high-quality, large-scale enterprise-class applications.
• Java Expertise: Proficiency in Java with extensive experience in REST APIs, JSON, and container-based technologies.
• Tech Stack Experience: Knowledge of Kafka, Spark, Hadoop, React, and Vertx is a plus.
• Generative AI: Experience with GenAI technology and building products using LLM.
• Database Skills: Hands-on experience with MSSQL and Oracle database technologies.
• Agile & CI/CD: Strong experience in Agile development, CI/CD pipelines, and tools like GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Chef, Sonar, JUnit.
• Unix/Linux Proficiency: Solid experience working in Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Security & Troubleshooting: Expertise in component security analysis, secure coding techniques, and real-time troubleshooting.
• Customer Focused: Passion for understanding customer requirements and developing creative solutions.
• Mentorship: Ability to mentor junior developers and help them grow.
• Debugging & Unix Skills: Strong debugging skills, with Unix proficiency, to support operations teams.

• This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your hiring manager. Hybrid employees are generally expected to work from the office 2-3 set days per week based on business needs.
