Lead Technical Role

We are looking for a Lead Technical Engineer to build and lead the full technology stack for a DeSci blockchain data platform. Deliver secure and scalable systems for users, labs, and research partners.

LOCATION & TRAVEL

This is a remote role. The successful candidate should be comfortable with regular international travel to meet with labs, partners, investors, and attend key industry events as the platform scales.

ROLE SUMMARY

You will design the architecture, build the platform, and manage all engineering work. You will own the technical roadmap, ship the MVP, recruit the team, and ensure strong security and compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

TECHNICAL ARCHITECTURE AND ROADMAP

Design the full architecture covering backend services, data vaults, apps, blockchain, and identity systems.

Build the technical roadmap from MVP to production and long term decentralization phases.

Define system requirements for encryption, consent frameworks, smart contracts, and data access layers.

Select and implement technologies such as IPFS or Filecoin, Ethereum or Polygon, GA4GH, FHIR, or OMOP.

Plan regional data locality strategies for regulated markets.

Ensure scalability, modularity, high availability, and strong interoperability.

Oversee cloud infrastructure decisions and cost control.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT AND ENGINEERING LEADERSHIP

Lead development, testing, and launch of the My DNA Bank platform.

Translate product goals into sprint plans and delivery timelines.

Build and manage an engineering team across blockchain, backend, frontend, data, and DevOps.

Work with scientific partners to connect genomic workflows and sequencing pipelines.

Oversee integrations with labs, identity systems, analytics partners, and external providers.

Maintain strong documentation for architecture, APIs, and internal guidelines.

Own UI and UX quality across mobile and web apps.

SECURITY, PRIVACY, AND COMPLIANCE

Implement encryption and privacy preserving technologies such as ZK proofs, MPC, and homomorphic encryption.

Manage key management, access control, and identity protection.

Oversee security audits, penetration tests, and monitoring.

Develop incident response and disaster recovery plans.

Ensure compliance with GDPR and HIPAA.

Maintain strong data governance and consent management.

BLOCKCHAIN, TOKENOMICS, AND DECENTRALIZATION

Lead smart contract development for token logic, governance, staking, and data access licensing.

Oversee decentralized identity and access control systems.

Align blockchain design with regulatory needs.

Guide long term decentralization across data, identity, and governance layers.

DEVOPS, INFRASTRUCTURE, AND OPERATIONS

Design and manage cloud environments across AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Set up CI and CD pipelines, containerization, orchestration, and automated testing.

Establish monitoring tools and operational dashboards.

Manage uptime, reliability, and infrastructure stability.

DATA AND ANALYTICS

Define data models for genomic and metadata layers.

Oversee basic analytics features for users, labs, and research partners.

Plan privacy preserving compute options for future research use.

STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP

Serve as a technical co founder and senior member of the leadership team.

Present technical plans to investors, advisors, labs, and partners.

Translate technical goals into execution plans that support fundraising.

Track trends in blockchain, privacy tech, AI genomics, and DeSci to guide product direction.

Work with legal and compliance teams on regulatory questions.

Define hiring needs and build the engineering team.

Set an engineering culture focused on reliability and delivery.
