Lead Communications Engineer
Responsibilities:
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates with Senior Communications Engineers to ensure correct implementation of the project design and coordinates the work of engineers within his specialty.
- Prepares and reviews communications engineering studies, design drawings, calculations and documents, and material and equipment specifications.
- Resolves specialty related communications engineering issues by applying accepted principles, codes, and standards.
- Analyzes problems and determines critical factors for investigation.
- Organizes and conducts investigations and analysis.
- Participates in the development of new communications engineering methods.
- Provides expert advice on design processes or construction methods.
- Approves significant changes in specifications and plans, work techniques and materials.
- Determines and schedules work priorities.
- Prepares communications engineering proposals estimates.
- Ensures quality plans are implemented.
AUTHORITY/LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides technical guidance to co-workers.
- Proposes staffing solutions and training and development opportunities.
- Organizes and supervises work of a large group of professionals and non-professionals, or small groups of highly specialized engineers.
- Provides input into performance evaluations and makes recommendations on staffing activities.
- Being accountable for unit deliverables.
- Approves timesheets.
Requirements:
- BS in Engineering and registered as a professional engineer with 15 years of significant experience.
- Has experience in the oil/gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore, or infrastructure industries and is recognized as specialist in communications engineering field on large to mega projects.
- Must have thorough knowledge of communications engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Has a currently valid Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification.
