The Faculty of Information Engineering and Technology at the German University in Cairo (GUC) is seeking highly qualified candidates for a faculty position in Electronics Engineering department. The ideal candidate should have a strong research background and industrial experience in digital circuits/systems design, VLSI, hardware accelerators and System-on-Chip (SoC).
Responsibilities:
- Join GUC research team in digital circuit/system design as a senior research lead with special focus on emerging technologies.
- Develop and teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in digital systems, digital logic design, CMOS digital integrated circuits, VLSI and computer architecture,
- Supervise undergraduate, master's, and PhD students.
- Engage in research collaborations with industry and international academic institutions.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the advancement of the department.
- Secure research funding through grants and industry partnerships.
- Participate in university service and administrative duties.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with focus on digital systems, very large scale integration, FPGAs and IC design.
- Strong research record with publications in top-tier journals and conferences.
- Industrial experience in digital systems implementation and hardware accelerators.
- Professional skills in RTL design, simulation and synthesis,
- Professional skills in EDA tools and FPGA platforms.
- Professional skills in Verilog, VHDL, and System Verilog.
- Candidates with experience in System-on-Chip (SoC) design and Physical AI will be given preference.
- Teaching experience at the university level is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to solve challenging cross-functional problems in a team environment.
