College Profile:
The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) houses ten departments, covering a wide range of undergraduate and graduate specializations in the Arts and Sciences including English Literature & Linguistics, Arabic Language, History, Fine Arts, Geography, Sociology, Social Work, International Affairs, Mass Communication, Psychology, Policy, Planning & Development, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Environmental Sciences and Material Sciences. The College also houses Master Programs, which are in Environmental Sciences, Gulf Studies, Materials Science & Technology, Applied statistics and Arabic Language, and two PhD programs in Biological & Environmental Sciences and Gulf Studies. Additionally, the College offers a Program of Arabic for Non- Native Speakers. The well-established research centers namely the Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) and the Gulf Studies Center complement the portfolio.

The Opportunity:
The Department of Mass Communication at Qatar University, one of the few departments accredited by ACEJMC outside the United States, consists of two programs and offers a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communication.
The Department of Mass Communication invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Lecturer of Practice in Journalism. The applicant should have outstanding practical experience in the industry of at least 7 years and be able to teach , journalism, digital media, and production courses, such as media writing, digital storytelling, documentary filmmaking, mobile journalism, multimedia reporting, directing among others. In addition to the journalism courses, the candidate may also be required to teach related general mass communication courses.

a.Years of experience after the highest academic degree.
b.Major and specific specialization.
2.Cover letter.
3.Portfolio of professional experience, including examples of relevant professional achievements.
4.Teaching philosophy and service philosophy.
5.Contact information for three references (physical addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers).
6.A copy of the Master's degree (and Ph.D. if applicable), and a copy of the detailed transcript for the Master's (and Ph.D. if applicable) if graduated from an institution where the degree was completed by coursework. If the degree was not completed by coursework, a certified letter from the degree-granting institution clarifying this should be attached).
7.Any additional documents relevant to the application.
