About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Legal Advisor to provide expert legal counsel and support senior management, business units, and operational departments across a leading international non-profit organization. The role is responsible for ensuring legal compliance, safeguarding organizational interests, mitigating legal risks, and supporting strategic decision-making through high-quality legal advice and analysis.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and opinions to senior management and various departments on a wide range of legal matters.
- Research, analyze, and interpret applicable laws, regulations, and legislative developments, and advise on their impact on organizational activities.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, memoranda of understanding (MOUs), and other legal documents.
- Review organizational policies, procedures, and governance documents from a legal perspective and recommend updates when required.
- Prepare legal studies, research papers, memoranda, and formal legal opinions.
- Manage and follow up on legal disputes, claims, and litigation matters while coordinating with external legal counsel when necessary.
- Advise on employment matters, contractual relationships, internal investigations, and disciplinary issues.
- Represent the organization before governmental, regulatory, and judicial authorities when assigned.
- Monitor local and international legislative developments and assess their implications for the organization.
- Support legal risk management initiatives and recommend preventive and corrective legal measures.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental operational and strategic plans.
- Provide professional guidance and legal support to internal stakeholders and help promote legal awareness across the organization.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with government entities, regulators, and external legal partners.
- Prepare periodic reports related to legal matters, regulatory developments, and risk exposure.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Master's degree in Law or a related legal discipline.
- Professional certifications in Governance, Compliance, Arbitration, Legal Risk Management, or related areas are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 12 years of professional legal experience.
- Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and legal agreements.
- Experience providing legal opinions and advisory services in complex organizational environments.
- Experience within large organizations, international NGOs, non-profit institutions, or multinational organizations is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, governance principles, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent legal research, analysis, drafting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Fluency in Arabic and English (written and spoken).
