Black & White Engineering is expanding rapidly across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific, and we are looking for a Legal & Compliance Assistant to support our legal, compliance, and commercial function.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their legal career who wants hands-on exposure to contracts, corporate governance, compliance frameworks, and business support in a professional and international environment. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders and gain strong commercial experience within a global consultancy.

What you will be doing
You will support the business by:
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing a range of contracts (including professional services agreements)
- Supporting the development and implementation of compliance policies aligned with best practice
- Conducting legal research and preparing analysis on relevant legal matters
- Supporting corporate governance initiatives, including internal policies and Code of Conduct training
- Ensuring company insurances are up to date and coordinating renewals where required
- Supporting global expansion and subsidiary management activities across domestic and international entities
- Maintaining contract templates and supporting improvements in contracting processes
- Monitoring legal and regulatory updates, especially those impacting the engineering and construction industry
- Communicating legal topics clearly to non-legal stakeholders
- Supporting internal projects, training initiatives, and cross-functional business requirements
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who brings:
- A relevant Law degree or equivalent professional qualification
- 13+ years of experience in a legal, compliance, or commercial support role
- Experience drafting, reviewing, or negotiating contracts
- Exposure to UK compliance laws and best-practice standards
- Strong English communication and report-writing ability
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Confidence working independently and managing priorities
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
