Lafarge Egypt continuously seeks to meet the needs of a wide range of customers including but not limited to individual homebuilders, large construction companies, architects, or local artisans, powered by 1500 passionate employees.

Job Purpose

  • To serve as a strategic legal partner by managing the full lifecycle of commercial contracts, providing high-level legal advisory based on rigorous research, and implementing robust risk management frameworks to protect the company's commercial and regulatory interests

Key Responsibilities

-Health & Safety

Adhere to and enforce relevant legislation and policies and ensure that highest degree of safety and safe working practices are maintained.

2-Functional:

1-Contract Lifecycle & Negotiation Excellence

Draft & Negotiate:

  • Lead the end-to-end drafting and negotiation of complex commercial agreements, terms and conditions, and specialized policies, ensuring all documents reflect the company's risk appetite.
  • Ensuring that all business contracts and agreements comply with applicable laws, protecting the company's interests, and minimizing legal risks.

Process Optimization:

  • Maintain and modernize the contract template library and streamline contracting workflows to improve speed-to-market while maintaining legal integrity.

Transaction Oversight:

  • Provide legal gatekeeping for company transactions, ensuring all deals align with both local laws and internal corporate directives.

2-Strategic Legal Advisory & Research:

Cross-Functional Partnerships:

  • Serve as the primary legal point of contact for internal business units, delivering actionable advice that balances legal requirements with commercial objectives.

Regulatory Intelligence:

  • Monitor updates in laws and regulations
  • Conduct deep-dive legal research into emerging laws and regulations; translate complex legislative changes into practical business impact assessments.

Outside Counsel Liaison:

Manage relationships with external law firms, ensuring specialized legal projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with company strategy

3-Risk Management & Compliance Integration

Proactive Risk Mitigation:

  • Identify and assess legal risks within third-party relationships and commercial ventures, developing clear mitigation strategies for leadership. Engage in meetings with BU colleagues and other functional leaders designed to clarify areas of risk and mitigation needs including but not limited to risks presented by third party relationships.

Policy Implementation

  • Roll out and monitor local compliance procedures (e.g., Anti-Bribery, Fair Competition, and COBC) to bridge gaps between global standards and local market realities

Dispute Management

  • Oversee pre-litigation and litigation matters by drafting strategic responses and developing resolution paths that protect the company's reputation and assets.

Education

  • Bachelor of law

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of Corporate Law, contract drafting skills and negotiation skills; legal research.
  • Analytical thinking and skills
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Excellent Organizational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent Computer skills (Word, excel and Power Point)
  • Excellent Arabic and English
  • Capacity to operate autonomously and handle numerous assignments concurrently
  • Excellent drafting skills
  • Problem solving

Experience:

  • 4 to 7 years of experience
