Job Description

Our client is a prominent organisation within the energy and infrastructure ecosystem, seeking an experienced Projects / EPC Legal Counsel to support highvalue development initiatives and major capital projects. This role partners closely with senior leadership, project teams, commercial functions, and engineers to provide strategic and practical legal support across the full lifecycle of infrastructure and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities of this EPC / Projects Legal Counsel:

  • Advise on complex infrastructure and development projects, including EPC, construction, and projectrelated commercial arrangements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of project documentation such as consultancy agreements, services contracts, MOUs, joint venture arrangements, O&M agreements, and other project development instruments.
  • Support procurement activities, including tender processes, supplier negotiations, and review of procurement contracts, purchase contracts, and related documentation.
  • Provide guidance on risk allocation, project delivery issues, delays, variations, claims, and dispute mitigation across the project lifecycle.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support new facility development, operational matters, and strategic commercial initiatives.
  • Deliver clear, businessfocused legal advice on general corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters as required.
  • Assist with internal legal processes, governance, and legal training for various teams.
  • Manage external counsel for specialised, complex, or crossborder project matters.

Requirements for this EPC / Projects Legal Counsel:

  • Qualified lawyer with 5–10+ years of postqualification experience, ideally with solid grounding in EPC / construction / infrastructure / major projects, gained from a reputable law firm and/or inhouse environment.
  • Experience with project development work, EPC contracting structures, and commercial negotiations within capitalintensive or highly regulated industries.
  • Ability to deliver practical, commercially oriented solutions and advice in fastmoving project environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholdermanagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, commercial, and senior business teams.
  • Prior exposure to M&A, project financing, or energyrelated industries (e.g., LNG, gas, renewable energy) is beneficial but not mandatory.
