Hiring: Legal Counsel | Abu Dhabi, UAE
WTS Energy is recruiting on behalf of a leading EPC company based in Abu Dhabi for an experienced Legal Counsel.
We are seeking a commercially focused legal professional with strong in-house experience in the Oil & Gas and Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) sectors to provide legal support across corporate, commercial, and operational matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide practical legal advice on corporate, commercial, and operational matters across the business.
- Manage corporate governance activities, including company formations, restructurings, board and shareholder resolutions, powers of attorney, and statutory compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts and legal documentation.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage and coordinate external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support litigation, arbitration, claims, investigations, and other dispute resolution matters.
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions, reports, and management briefings.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting the business and recommend appropriate actions.
- Liaise with government authorities, regulators, and external stakeholders on legal and corporate matters.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to provide commercially driven legal solutions that support business objectives.
Requirements
- LL.B. from a recognized university (mandatory).
- Minimum 7–8 years of post-qualification experience, including at least 3 years in an in-house Legal Counsel role.
- Mandatory experience within the Oil & Gas, EPC, or related industries.
- Strong background in corporate governance, commercial contracts, litigation, arbitration, and management of external legal counsel.
- GCC experience is highly desirable.
- Fluent in both Arabic and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
- French language skills are an advantage.
