CONFIDENTIAL OPPORTUNITY | Head of Legal – Egypt
We are currently supporting a confidential search for a Head of Legal to lead the legal function in Egypt for a leading multinational organization with 35,000+ employees across multiple countries.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the company's legal agenda in Egypt, providing strategic legal counsel to the business, managing legal risk, and partnering closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the legal function in Egypt.
- Provide strategic legal advice to senior management and business leaders.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Egyptian laws and regulations.
- Manage corporate, commercial, contractual, regulatory and employment-related legal matters.
- Identify, assess and mitigate legal and regulatory risks.
- Lead negotiations and review of major commercial agreements and contracts.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and relevant authorities.
- Develop and implement legal policies, frameworks and governance standards.
- Act as a trusted strategic partner to the business and support key commercial decisions.
- Lead and develop the local legal team.
Ideal Profile
- Senior legal professional with significant experience in a multinational or large-scale corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of Egyptian corporate and commercial law.
- Proven experience leading a legal function or serving as a senior legal counsel.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to operate as a business partner.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience managing complex legal matters across multiple business areas.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
