About the Role

The Legal Director will provide strategic legal counsel and leadership to support the organization's investment, real estate, and government initiatives. This role oversees the full spectrum of legal activities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations while protecting the entity's interests in all commercial and governmental engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of legal strategies aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert advice on investment agreements, real estate transactions, commercial contracts, and government compliance matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents, MoUs, joint-venture agreements, and service contracts.
  • Oversee litigation, dispute resolution, and external legal counsel to ensure efficient case management and risk mitigation.
  • Monitor regulatory changes, assess their impact, and recommend policy updates, controls, and legal frameworks.
  • Establish legal governance procedures, policies, templates, and best practices to support business activities.
  • Ensure legal due diligence for new projects, partnerships, mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Support the executive team with legal insights for major decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Lead and develop an internal legal team, fostering a high-performance, compliant, and ethical work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) required; Master of Laws (LLM) or related postgraduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional legal experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in investment management, real estate, or government regulatory environments.
  • Strong background in contract drafting, commercial law, corporate governance, and litigation management.
  • Excellent command of English; Arabic proficiency is highly desirable.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical thinking, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
