Our client, a leading private real estate developer with a growing portfolio of high-end residential, hospitality and mixed-use developments, is seeking an experienced Legal Director to join its executive team based in Dubai.

This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all legal matters across the business, supporting the company's continued growth and ensuring robust legal governance across its development portfolio and corporate operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the company's legal function, providing strategic advice to the executive leadership team.

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, development contracts and corporate documentation.

• Advise on land acquisitions, joint ventures, development agreements, financing arrangements and asset transactions.

• Manage legal aspects of major real estate developments from acquisition through to delivery and operation.

• Oversee external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions where required.

• Ensure compliance with UAE laws, corporate governance requirements and regulatory obligations.

• Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks across the organisation.

• Support dispute resolution, claims management and litigation strategy where necessary.

• Develop legal policies, governance frameworks and best practice across the business.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with a recognised legal qualification.

• 12+ years post-qualification experience, including significant exposure to real estate development and corporate/commercial law.

• Previous experience with a leading real estate developer, investment company, private developer or international law firm advising the real estate sector.

• Strong experience negotiating complex commercial and development agreements.

• Excellent understanding of corporate governance, acquisitions, joint ventures and large-scale development transactions.

• Commercially minded with the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.

• Experience in the UAE is highly desirable. Regional GCC experience would be advantageous.
