Job Description
Our client, a well-established real estate developer in the UAE, is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their in-house legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and commercial teams on a wide range of real estate development and transactional matters across the full lifecycle of projects.
The successful candidate will support the business on real estate transactions, construction-related agreements, and property management matters while ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory frameworks.
This position is ideal for lawyers currently working within reputable law firms or real estate organizations who are looking to transition into an in-house environment and gain broader commercial exposure within a dynamic development business.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a range of real estate and construction-related agreements
- Provide legal support on property transactions including land acquisition, development agreements, and sale and purchase agreements (SPAs)
- Advise on property management contracts, leasing arrangements, and asset management documentation
- Support project teams across the full lifecycle of real estate developments from acquisition to delivery and asset management
- Identify legal risks within contractual arrangements and provide commercially pragmatic solutions
- Work closely with internal stakeholders including development, finance, and commercial teams
- Coordinate with external legal advisors and manage legal matters where specialist advice is required
- Assist in dispute resolution and claims management related to real estate or construction matters
- Support the development and improvement of internal contract templates and governance processes
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB or equivalent)
- Approximately 47 years of post-qualification experience
- Experience within a reputable law firm or real estate developer
- Strong exposure to real estate transactions and construction-related contracts
- Experience advising on property development projects or real estate asset management
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills with a commercial mindset
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
