Position Overview:
The Legal Officer supports the company in all legal and compliance matters by providing legal assistance, preparing and reviewing documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. The role requires strong corporate legal background, excellent drafting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple legal and administrative tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
1. Legal Documentation & Support
- Draft, review, and prepare legal documents including contracts, NDAs, employment agreements, addendums, and internal policies.
- Maintain and update all legal documentation, ensuring proper record-keeping and organized storage.
- Prepare legal notices, warnings, and letters related to operational and administrative matters.
2. Compliance & Regulatory Support
- Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable UAE laws and regulations.
- Assist in creating, reviewing, and updating internal compliance policies and procedures.
3. Case Handling & Coordination
- Support in managing legal disputes, complaints, and claims by gathering relevant documents and drafting preliminary responses.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel when required and provide all supporting documents.
- Assist in preparing case files, summaries, and evidence for any legal proceedings.
4. Contracts Management
- Maintain a contracts database, track renewal dates, expiries, and ensure compliance with terms.
- Support contract negotiations by preparing drafts, reviewing clauses, and coordinating with vendors or internal departments.
5. Administrative & Legal Tasks
- Maintain legal logs, case trackers, and compliance registers.
- Prepare meeting minutes, legal summaries, and follow-up action notes for legal discussions.
- Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Skills
- Strong understanding of UAE Labour Law, Commercial Companies Law, and general corporate legal frameworks.
- Excellent drafting skills and strong legal writing abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and legal documentation tools.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or equivalent.
- Additional legal certifications are an advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of corporate legal experience (preferably within UAE).
- Experience in contract drafting, corporate compliance, and internal legal support is highly preferred.
- Court litigation experience is not required.
