Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and recommendations to support STG's decision-making process and protect its legal interests against any legal liability.
- Advise STG on legal matters of strategic importance to safeguard and protect its interests.
- Ensure the provision of legal advice on all agreements related to business operations to protect STG from legal exposure and minimize liability.
- Ensure the provision of legal advice on the development and review of contractual work and documents, and support managers in resolving contractual issues and disputes to secure STG's best interests.
- Ensure the use of proper communication and negotiation techniques to avoid litigation where possible and achieve out-of-court settlements that serve STG's interests.
- Contribute to various committees and meetings, internal and external, as applicable and in line with authority levels, to ensure relevant matters are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
- Review, negotiate, and amend all contracts and legal documentation in a timely and efficient manner to ensure they are properly drafted and interpreted.
- Consult with external legal firms involved in STG-related cases to ensure they are fully briefed and aware of all facts and circumstances surrounding the case.
Key Accountabilities
- Carry out daily operations assigned to the department in compliance with the company's standards.
- Prepare timely and accurate department reports to meet the requirements, objectives, and standards of the company and the department.
- Ensure the satisfaction of internal and external customers by addressing their needs in a courteous and timely manner.
- Follow all relevant policies, procedures, and processes to ensure work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
- Contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of processes, practices, work processes, cost effectiveness, and productivity enhancement.
- Promote the implementation of and adherence to policies, procedures, processes, and instructions among employees within the organization.
- Maintain a good and respectful relationship with colleagues and represent the company in a positive image.
Job Requirements
Education:
A bachelor's degree in Law is required
Experience:
6 + years of experience in legal advisory and litigation management is required.
