Job Summary:
The Psychologist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals experiencing psychological, emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. The role involves conducting psychological assessments, developing and implementing evidence-based treatment plans, and providing individual, group, or family therapy as appropriate. The Psychologist works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to promote mental wellbeing, support recovery, and improve clients quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide psychological assessment, formulation and evidence-based interventions for adults experiencing emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges within a multidisciplinary model of care.
- Deliver individual and group-based psychological interventions using evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to individual needs and aligned with service pathways and best practices.
- Contribute to the planning, coordination and review of each individual's wellbeing and therapeutic programme, supporting engagement, personal growth, and continuity of care.
- Provide psychologically informed consultation and guidance to the residential service team, promoting trauma-informed, person-centered practice and effective risk management.
- Maintain clear, timely, and legally robust clinical records and reports in line with the service standards, information governance, and organizational policy.
- Undertake routine outcome measurement, and contribute to audit, and service evaluation, quality improvement activity and, where appropriate, research and training delivery.
- Participate in clinical governance activities (e.g., supervision, reflective practice, incident learning, safeguarding, policy adherence) and work within relevant legal, ethical, and professional frameworks.
Experience and Education Requirements
- BSc or BA in Psychology or similar within the psychology field (e.g., clinical psychology)
- MSc or MA in Clinical Psychology or counselling psychology
- US, European or UK-trained Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy / ClinPsyD)
- Arabic speaker is a must
- Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience working with adults in a psychology role
- Candidates must meet the minimum requirement of the Department of Health PQR
