Job Overview:

The Lifting Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising lifting operations on construction sites, ensuring they are safe, compliant, and efficiently executed.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop lift plans, method statements, and lifting strategies.
• Perform load calculations, centre of gravity and sling-angle assessments.
• Select and verify cranes, rigging equipment, and lifting accessories.
• Inspect equipment and ensure certifications and statutory requirements are up to date.
• Supervise critical/heavy lifting operations and coordinate crane operators, riggers, and banksmen.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with HSE standards, including LOLER and BS 7121.
• Maintain lifting documentation, inspection records, risk assessments, and technical reports.
• Conduct toolbox talks and training and provide technical guidance to junior staff.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years experience in lifting engineering, crane operations, or heavy-lift planning, preferably within construction/heavy-lift projects.
