Lifting Engineer Appointed Person

Are you an experienced Lifting Engineer with a strong background in Oil & Gas EPC projects and complex heavy lifting operations We are seeking a highly competent professional to lead and oversee all lifting, rigging, transportation, and heavy equipment handling activities across major EPC projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic project team delivering large-scale Brownfield, Greenfield, Shutdown, Turnaround, and Infrastructure projects, while ensuring the highest standards of safety, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.

YOUR ROLE

As the Lifting Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, supervision, coordination, and control of all lifting and rigging activities associated with project delivery including but not limited to:

Lifting Operations Management

• Lead and manage all lifting and rigging activities across project sites.
• Develop lifting execution strategies aligned with project objectives and milestones.
• Coordinate multiple lifting operations across various construction work fronts.
• Optimize deployment of lifting resources, equipment, and personnel.
• Monitor operational efficiency, productivity, and performance.

Project Planning & Coordination

• Participate in pre-construction and project execution planning.
• Integrate lifting requirements into overall construction schedules.
• Coordinate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, HSE, and Project Controls teams.
• Support constructability reviews and execution planning activities.

Lifting Engineering & Technical Oversight

• Review lifting methodologies, procedures, and operational strategies.
• Ensure lifting activities are adequately engineered and risk-assessed.
• Coordinate with engineering teams on critical and complex lifts.
• Resolve technical issues affecting lifting execution.
• Ensure compliance with approved lifting procedures and standards.

Lift Planning & Governance

• Oversee preparation and implementation of lifting plans.
• Review and approve complex and high-risk lifting operations.
• Participate in lift readiness reviews and risk assessments.
• Ensure suitable controls and mitigation measures are implemented.

Resource Management

• Manage lifting engineers, supervisors, riggers, and specialized lifting crews.
• Monitor workforce competency and certification compliance.
• Coordinate equipment allocation, inspections, maintenance, and certification requirements.
• Ensure efficient utilization of lifting assets and resources.

HSE Leadership

• Champion a strong safety culture throughout all lifting operations.
• Lead lifting-related risk assessments and safety reviews.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC requirements, local regulations, and international lifting standards.
• Participate in incident investigations and corrective action programs.

Quality & Compliance

• Conduct lifting audits and compliance reviews.
• Ensure adherence to project specifications, client requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain lifting documentation, certification records, and operational registers.
• Support internal and external audits.

Project Performance & Stakeholder Management

• Monitor lifting performance against project schedules and KPIs.
• Support forecasting, productivity improvement, and resource planning.
• Interface with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
• Prepare management reports and performance dashboards.

Training & Competency Development

• Support workforce training, mentoring, and succession planning.
• Promote industry best practices and lessons learned.
• Ensure lifting personnel maintain required certifications and competency levels.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Experience

• Must have 12-15 years of construction and project execution experience.
• Minimum 5 years of dedicated lifting and rigging experience.
• Proven experience within Oil & Gas, Industrial, Power, Utilities, Infrastructure, or EPC projects.
• Preferred experience in ADNOC projects, GCC projects, Brownfield and Greenfield projects, Large-Scale projects

Education and Certifications

• Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Appointed Person Certification (or equivalent).
• Advanced Lifting & Rigging Certification.
• Lifting Operations Safety Certification.
• Relevant Lifting & Rigging Certifications
