Light Driver
Purpose of the Job: To clear and transport goods as required; to ensure proper upkeep of the company vehicle.
Job Accountabilities:
- Deliver goods via a light vehicle, sometimes over intercity routes or spanning several emirates.
- Receive instructions for clearing or collecting goods with documents.
- Visit banks to obtain special clearance on cheques as necessary.
- Deliver/collect documents throughout the UAE.
- Attend the Traffic Department to obtain registration certificates for new vehicles.
- Perform receiving inspections for the delivery of new vehicles from the workshop.
- Assist at the port with the collection of vehicles as required.
- Drive long distances.
- Book car wash and detailing services to maintain the interior and exterior cleanliness of the car.
- Report to a dispatcher for any incidents encountered on the road.
- Maintain vehicle equipment; replace oil, fill the gas tank, and perform general motor vehicle maintenance as needed for safety.
- Use navigation apps to determine the best route.
- Ensure the car seats are clean and comfortable for all riders.
- Ensure the car is properly serviced and maintained.
- Comply with and implement local laws and client's requirements related to QHSEMS aspects at the workplace, as per the bestowed authority and responsibility.
- Carry out any additional tasks assigned (in line with qualifications and ability) by the line manager.
Qualifications, Education, Experience & Knowledge:
Qualifications & Education:
- Secondary School Certificate.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of driving in Dubai with the appropriate vehicle.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to speak, read, and write some English, Arabic, and Hindi.
- UAE driving license in the appropriate class.
- Familiarity with GPS devices.
