Job Purpose
We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Line Cook to support daily kitchen operations for the café within our luxury retail store. This role is essential in delivering consistently high-quality food that reflects the standards of our brand. The ideal candidate takes pride in precision, cleanliness, and teamwork while contributing to a seamless, elevated guest experience.
What You Will Be Doing
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and plating for every dish
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workstation always
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health regulations strictly
- Ensure proper food storage, labelling, and stock rotation (FIFO)
- Participate in cleaning schedules and end-of-shift procedures
- Assist with prep work, inventory checks, and stock organization
- Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth and timely service
- Communicate clearly during service to support efficient order flow and minimize delays
- Use kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly
- Minimize food waste by following portion control and preparation guidelines
- Monitor food quality throughout service and flag any inconsistencies or issues proactively
- Support other kitchen sections as needed during peak service periods
- Adapt quickly to changing service demands while maintaining quality standards
What we are looking for
- Previous experience as a line cook in a professional kitchen, premium café, or upscale restaurant preferred
- Basic culinary training or relevant certification is an advantage
- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen best practices
- High attention to detail and quality control
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Calm, solution-oriented approach in fast-paced environments
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts
