Job Title: LLM Engineer
Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Contract Duration: 6 Months
Start Date: Immediate / As soon as possible
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced LLM Engineer to join an innovative AI initiative within the construction and infrastructure sector. This is a hands-on role focused on designing, fine-tuning, and deploying large language models (LLMs) for real-world applications such as document interpretation, technical data extraction, and construction project automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, train, and evaluate LLMs optimized for domain-specific use cases in the construction industry.
- Work across the full lifecycle: data collection, preprocessing, training, evaluation, and deployment.
- Develop and implement evaluation metrics to measure model accuracy, efficiency, and reliability.
- Fine-tune open-source foundation models using proprietary or structured data sets.
- Collaborate with teams to integrate models into decision-making and automation tools.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest model architectures, inference strategies, and efficiency techniques.
- Troubleshoot model issues and optimize performance on large-scale infrastructure.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience building and deploying LLMs (e.g., using Hugging Face, OpenAI, Anthropic, or local inference frameworks).
- Strong understanding of model evaluation metrics (BLEU, F1, perplexity, ROUGE, etc.).
- Proficiency in Python and AI frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience in data preparation, prompt engineering, and synthetic data generation workflows.
- Familiarity with vector databases (Pinecone, FAISS, or Weaviate) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines.
- Interest or prior exposure to construction or engineering datasets is a strong plus.
