About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled LNG Process Engineer to join a dynamic technical team in Qatar. The successful candidate will provide process engineering expertise to support the operation, troubleshooting, and optimization of LNG facilities. This role requires a hands-on engineer with a strong background in gas treatment, liquefaction, and cryogenic processes, capable of driving plant modifications and ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering & Support
- Analyze and optimize LNG process systems, including acid gas removal (AGR), dehydration, mercury removal, liquefaction, and fractionation.
- Perform process simulations and modeling to troubleshoot operational issues on damaged or underperforming LNG trains.
- Develop and review heat and material balances, equipment sizing calculations, and hydraulic analysis.
- Support plant modifications, debottlenecking studies, and capacity enhancement initiatives to maximize production efficiency.
Safety & Risk Management
- Actively participate in Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP), Hazard Identification (HAZID), and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA).
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure all process designs comply with company safety standards and international codes.
- Provide technical input for Management of Change (MOC) processes, ensuring safe implementation of modifications.
Technical Coordination
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical & instrumentation (E&I), and commissioning teams to ensure seamless integration of process changes.
- Support start-up, normal operations, and shutdown procedures, providing technical guidance to operations personnel.
- Interface with project teams during the execution phase of plant modifications, ensuring design integrity and adherence to project specifications.
Standards & Compliance
- Ensure all engineering work complies with international codes and standards (e.g., API, ASME, NFPA) as well as local regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and review technical reports, operating manuals, and engineering specifications.
