Logistics Lead - Shops (Retail)
Job Description
Role Objectives:
The Logistics Lead is responsible for the operational planning and performance of outbound logistics and last-mile delivery operations supporting Breadfast Shops. The role translates logistics plans and delivery requirements into effective daily dispatch and routing plans, oversees delivery capacity and performance, drives operational improvements, and leads the Logistics Supervisor to ensure consistent execution against service, cost, and operational standards.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Operations:
- Manage and optimize daily delivery operations, including dispatch and routing plans, delivery capacity, and 3PL performance, to achieve agreed service levels and cost targets.
- Monitor overall real-time delivery performance and intervene in significant or recurring delays, failed deliveries, route bottlenecks, and capacity issues that require higher-level resolution.
- Coordinate closely with the Fulfillment Lead to align warehouse dispatch readiness with outbound delivery schedules.
- Own and oversee the cash collection process across the logistics operation, ensuring proper controls, reconciliation, and handover of collected cash.
- Maintain accountability for any cash discrepancies and ensure that exceptions are investigated and resolved.
- Drive continuous improvement of routing efficiency, cost per delivery, and fleet/vehicle utilization.
- Ensure compliance with safety, hygiene, and operational standards across all logistics activities.
Team Coordination:
- Lead, develop, and hold accountable the Logistics Supervisor and, through them, Logistics Coordinators and DAs.
- Set clear performance expectations and coach the Logistics Supervisor to build team capability.
- Plan staffing and shift coverage to ensure adequate delivery capacity across peak and off-peak periods.
- Act as the escalation point for operational issues the Logistics Supervisor or Coordinators cannot resolve.
Reporting:
- Track and report on KPIs including on-time delivery, failed/delayed order rates, cost per delivery, and DA productivity.
- Provide the Sr. Fulfillment & Logistics Manager – Shops with regular performance summaries and root-cause analysis of recurring issues.
- Maintain accurate operational records to support planning and workforce decisions.
Required Education, Knowledge, And Skills:
- Bachelor degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or last-mile delivery operations, including at least 1–2 years in a team leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of route planning, delivery workflows, and fleet/DA management.
- Proficiency in routing tools, delivery platforms, and reporting/data analysis.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to manage through a supervisor layer.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate operational data into decisions.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with Fulfillment and Customer Experience teams.
