Key Responsibilities:

Foreign Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Develop and execute annual foreign procurement plans aligned with production schedules and sourcing strategies.
  • Manage international purchase orders with OEMs and foreign suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, annual contracts, and framework agreements.
  • Build and maintain long-term supplier relationships.
  • Monitor supplier production schedules and shipment readiness.
  • Coordinate supplier qualification and alternative sourcing approvals with Quality Engineering.
  • Maintain supplier databases covering pricing, contracts, delivery performance, and quality records.

Letter of Credit & Trade Finance Management

  • Manage the full LC cycle from application to settlement for imported kits and components.
  • Coordinate with Finance and banks to ensure timely and accurate LC issuance.
  • Review shipping and trade documents for compliance.
  • Resolve LC discrepancies with suppliers and financial institutions.
  • Monitor LC utilization and trade finance limits.
  • Handle CAD and open account payment arrangements where applicable.

Import Freight & Logistics Management

  • Manage inbound sea freight, air freight, and multimodal transportation.
  • Negotiate contracts with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and logistics providers.
  • Coordinate shipment bookings, documentation, and loading activities.
  • Track shipments and provide ETA updates to internal stakeholders.
  • Optimize freight modes and transportation costs.
  • Manage Incoterms selection to reduce total landed cost and operational risk.

Customs Clearance & Regulatory Compliance

  • Oversee customs clearance activities for imported automotive kits and components.
  • Ensure compliance with Egyptian customs laws, NAFEZA requirements, HS code classification, and import regulations.
  • Supervise customs brokers and declaration accuracy.
  • Coordinate customs duty payments and temporary admission procedures.
  • Minimize demurrage and detention costs at Egyptian ports.
  • Monitor changes in customs laws and investment incentives.

Warehouse Receiving & Kit Verification

  • Supervise receiving operations for imported shipments.
  • Verify kit completeness against BoM, packing lists, and quality standards.
  • Manage discrepancy reporting for shortages, damages, and documentation issues.
  • Coordinate supplier claims, replacements, and insurance cases.
  • Ensure ERP confirmation before production release.
  • Manage bonded warehouse activities when required.

Cost Control & Budget Management

  • Manage procurement and logistics budgets.
  • Track total landed cost per vehicle model.
  • Analyze budget variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through sourcing, freight consolidation, and customs optimization.
  • Support annual budgeting with freight, FX, and duty forecasts.

Systems, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain accurate ERP records for procurement, logistics, and customs activities.
  • Operate NAFEZA and customs pre-clearance systems.
  • Prepare operational and management reports including shipment tracking, LC status, supplier scorecards, and KPI dashboards.
  • Lead digitalization and automation initiatives across procurement and logistics operations.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate with Production Planning to align import schedules with manufacturing requirements.
  • Collaborate with Finance on LC planning, FX management, and duty payments.
  • Work with Quality Engineering on technical approvals and supplier qualifications.
  • Support after-sales spare parts procurement activities.
  • Represent the organization in meetings with OEM partners and external stakeholders.

Job Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or International Trade.
  • MBA or Master's Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or International Business is preferred.
  • Formal training in Incoterms, international trade law, and Egyptian customs regulations is essential.

Experience

  • 10–15 years of experience in international procurement and import logistics.
  • Minimum 5 years in a managerial leadership role.
  • Strong experience in CKD/SKD automotive imports or similar industrial sectors.
  • Deep knowledge of Egyptian customs regulations, NAFEZA operations, and port procedures.
  • Proven experience managing Letters of Credit and international trade finance activities.
  • Background in supplier negotiations, freight management, and customs cost optimization.
  • Experience using ERP procurement and logistics systems such as SAP or Oracle.
